Helping more young players access soccer opportunities
The Student-Athlete Opportunity Fund is a student-led community initiative intended to help young soccer players from families with financial need access approved development and exposure opportunities. It is not a registered charity, does not issue charitable tax receipts, and does not promise recruitment, team selection, scholarships, or admission.

Eligibility
- Ages 12–18 and living in the Greater Toronto Area.
- Participating in house league, rep, iModel, OPDL, academy, or school soccer.
- Demonstrated financial need, kept private.
- A specific opportunity and clear cost identified.
- Parent or guardian permission.
- A short player reflection about commitment, school, and the opportunity.

Application information and privacy
Application information includes the player’s name, age and grade, parent or guardian name and contact details, current soccer level, the specific opportunity and cost, the amount requested, a short player statement, information about school and soccer balance, and recorded parent or guardian consent.
This sensitive information is not collected through the public contact form. Applications require an access-controlled process, adult review, a retention and deletion schedule, and documented selection decisions.
Sponsorship enquiries
Prospective sponsors can use the general contact page to begin a conversation without submitting private financial information. Enquiries may include a name, business name, email, proposed amount or type of support, and whether public recognition is requested. Recognition requires explicit consent, and sponsorship language is reviewed before publication.
Privacy and transparency commitments
- Private financial details will not be published.
- Player and family information will be protected and collected only when needed.
- Event providers will be paid directly where possible.
- Only general, non-identifying impact numbers will be shared.
- Support will not guarantee recruiting, selection, scholarship, or admission outcomes.
- Charitable tax receipts will not be offered unless the initiative becomes legally registered and authorized to do so.
